Primary Care

Primary Care at Lestonnac works to provide a medical home to the residents of Southern California. Patients who seek primary care at Lestonnac receive yearly checkups that include blood work. These patients receive follow up care to help manage their health and any chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. According to our partners at American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), patients who receive regular primary care are less likely to develop serious health issues, require less hospital or ER visits, and spend less money on healthcare. Primary care patients may be referred for specialty care and surgeries as needed.

 Screening Days

In April of 2021, Lestonnac began providing Screening Days for all diabetic and hypertensive patients. These screenings involve many of the yearly exams performed on these patients, but they are done all in one day. Where a patient would typically have to make multiple appointments each and every year to receive these exams, we offer all screenings within one appointment time. This ensures the patient and their provider have all the necessary information to monitor their health and prevent common complications related to diabetes and hypertension.

In 2022, 693 patients have benefitted from this service.

Screen Day test include:

  • Diabetic Retinopathy Exams

  • Hemodynamics Screening

  • Carotid Ultrasound

  • Fibro Scan

  • Diabetic Foot Exam

  • Annual FIT testing for ages 45+

Pharmacy

Lestonnac works with volunteer pharmacists and pharmacy students to provide patients with visits for simple medication refills. This reduces stress on the primary care physician’s schedule, allowing them to see new patients. Pharmacist and primary care providers work collectively to help the patients manage their chronic conditions.
