Mission and Vision
Mission
Lestonnac Free Clinic's mission is to provide free health care services to low-income and uninsured residents in Southern California, through the support of generous volunteers and donors.
Vision
Lestonnac Free Clinic's vision is to expand the health care safety net to marginalized communities through collaboration and partnerships.
Bridging the Healthcare Gap
As one of the few remaining free clinics in California, Lestonnac Free Clinic understands the urgent and growing need for affordable healthcare. For many low-income and uninsured individuals, accessing medical care often means choosing between their health and basic necessities like food, rent, or transportation.
We are here to change that.
Lestonnac works to fill critical gaps in the healthcare system, providing compassionate, comprehensive care to medically underserved populations. By offering services at no cost, we help improve quality of life, restore dignity, and relieve pressure on emergency rooms and public health resources.
Together, we can build a healthier, more equitable community — one patient at a time.
Behind the Care
Lestonnac Free Clinic’s (LFC) unique organizational model is built on three core values: Leadership, Functionality, and Creativity.
Leadership
At Lestonnac, we lead the way in delivering healthcare to our community’s most vulnerable through the dedication and collaboration of:
Providers: Our volunteer physicians, dentists, and mental health professionals generously donate their time and expertise, enabling us to offer free medical care to underserved and low-income residents.
Volunteers: WWe engage volunteers in vital roles such as translation, front and back office support, and administration, providing them with valuable hands-on experience and a strong foundation for their future careers.
Staff: Our committed and compassionate staff wear many hats—supporting volunteers and managing daily operations—allowing us to run efficiently and maintain low costs.
Functionality
We recognize that healthcare is a team effort — and no one can do it alone. Many of our patients require resources beyond what we can provide directly. To bridge these gaps, Lestonnac developed the Community Referral Network (CRN), a secure, HIPAA-compliant, web-based platform that connects local community organizations and healthcare providers. This collaborative network strengthens the regional health safety net, allowing us to deliver personalized, holistic care tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
Creativity
Since Lestonnac does not bill insurance or receive federal or state funding, we rely on creativity and resourcefulness to keep our doors open. Our work is made possible through the generous support of local and national grants, foundations, and private donors. Every contribution, big or small, makes a meaningful impact.
Guided by our dedicated Board of Directors, the Clinic continually explores new funding opportunities to strengthen existing programs and expand services — all to better serve our patients and community.
