The clinic plays a key role in disaster preparedness for the county and takes their responsibility very seriously. This past summer, Lestonnac Free Clinic became the only clinic in California to hold a full scale comprehensive disaster drill. Complete with a safety management team, pseudo patients from within the community, the local boy scout troupe, and help from the Orange City Fire and Police departments, as well as the Coalition of Community Clinics, the mock drill proved to be a great success and learning experience for all involved. The clinic feels better prepared now more than ever to respond should a disaster strike.
